26 WEEKS - LIFE CAN CHANGE IN AN INSTANT

You can get so wrapped up in your pregnancy and what's going with you, that you forget that life is still going on around you.  This week I was reminded.  My doorbell rang at 8am Tuesday morning and a man  stood there telling me my husband had been in a car accident.  I can't even tell you the million thoughts that rushed through my mind.  Honestly I won't even recount and go back to that moment as it was one of the worst I'd ever experienced.

While driving to work, a young kid ran a red light and t-boned Anthony.  Inches away from ramming right into his side door. A second sooner or later, Anthony would be dead and my whole world would've changed.  Thankfully, it hit the front end of his car and both drivers walked away with minimal injuries.  While his car is totaled and he's had a pretty bad concussion...we've made it through this week day by day being thankful things didn't go differently.  Just want to take a moment to remind everyone that things can change in a second.  I'm so grateful that Anthony always tells me he loves me before he leaves in the morning.  Today I'm thankful my son will still have a father.

I'm also thankful he's around to practice swaddling on Marty. :)

HOW FAR ALONG:
26 weeks.  98 days...double digits...so close I can taste it.

WEIGHT GAIN:
14 lbs...not as much as I was expecting to be honest.  I've gotten massive, so the enigma of not gaining weight is lost on me.

SYMPTOMS:
dried white stuff in my nipples. That's new.  Ch-ch-ch-ch-CHANGES! Also when I brushed my teeth on Wednesday...my gums bled.  That was relatively frightening...Also, hot flashes.  That or maybe it's just that I live in Los Angeles

CRAVINGS:
ice cream and pickles!! just kidding...no cravings.  It's all a lie.

SLEEP:
After this week...my mind has been racing as you could imagine.  I've been okay, but just a lot on my mind.  Its been pretty dry so we've had the humidifier on every night.

BELLY BUTTON, STRETCH MARKS AND WEDDING RINGS:
Half in, half out.  No stretch marks yet.  My wedding right has definitely been getting tighter as it's been getting hotter.

EXERCISE:
Swimming.  I don't have a single bathing suit that fits me so I've just been prancing around my pool nude...giving Southwest airlines a show as they fly overhead from Burbank airport.  Here's a nude photo of me in the pool.

...partial nude I guess.

MATERNITY CLOTHES:
leggings, big tshirts, sandals...I'm all about comfort these days.  You squeeze any part of my body, you get thrown in the box of "no...nuh uh"

EXCITED:
My garden is in full bloom.  I've become relatively health conscious what with the fetus and all so Anthony and I started our own veggie garden a month back and already seeing results.  This pepper was 9 inches!  We have a full herb garden of Rosemary, Thyme, Lemon Thyme, Mint, Oregeno and Basil.  For veggies, we've got squash, tomatoes, bell peppers, habaneros, jalapeños and sweet peppers.  I was worried I'd kill them all, but they're doing so well, I think we're going to expand the garden next weekend.  The below pepper got sautéed with some onions and swallowed into my belly.
